What are the side effects of Hydroxycut?

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) reported 23 cases of consumers experiencing liver-related problems with the use of Hydroxycut branded products. These cases ranged from jaundice and elevated liver enzymes, to liver damage requiring liver transplants. The FDA did have one confirmed death due to liver failure.


What are the symptoms of Liver Disease?

  • Jaundice, or yellowing of the skin and the whites of your eyes
  • Darkened urine
  • Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea
  • Light-colored stools

On May 1, 2009, The FDA urged consumers to stop taking Hydroxycut branded products and Iovate Health Sciences USA, Inc. announced that they would voluntarily recall Hydroxycut branded products sold in the United States.
