Head-on Collisions
When the front of one vehicle collides with the front of another vehicle that is traveling in the direction opposite of it then that is considered a head-on collision. While these kinds of accidents aren’t as common as others, they tend to cause an especially severe amount of damage and end up killing a large number of motorists. These accidents are typically caused by drivers that are impaired by the influence of alcohol, fatigue, or distraction that leads them to swerve into the lane of opposite traveling traffic.

Rear-End Accidents
Perhaps the most common kind of accident that people find themselves experiencing are rear-end accidents. These accidents can range greatly in severity with people getting fender benders in parking lots to trucks rear-ending other motor vehicles at high speeds on the highway. People that are involved in rear-end collisions suffer whiplash, injuries, back injuries, and similar neck injuries caused by the violent jerking movements caused by this type of accident.
People will typically rear-end other vehicles due to a failure to stop either because they do not realize that the car ahead of them has come to a halt or slowed and in other cases they may realize but too late to effectively brake before they slam into the person in front of them. What many people do not realize is that the fault for a rear-end accident will usually fall with the driver that collides with the front vehicle. Drivers are supposed to have a far enough distance between them and the vehicle in front of them to brake effectively which means that even if the car in front of you slams their brakes randomly, you better have enough space between the two of you otherwise you could be the one considered at fault.
T-Bone Collisions
Cars can collide with each other in a direct perpendicular faction in what is called a t-bone accident. These kinds of collisions will occur because a car failed to brake at a stoplight or yield at a left turn and continued on to get hit by a car with the right of way. These accidents almost exclusively occur at intersections.
Sideswipe Collisions
A sideswipe collision occurs when the sides of two vehicles hit each other either when they are traveling in opposite or similar directions. This will typically occur because of vehicles that are switching lanes and they do not see a vehicle that is next to them in their blindspot or that is pulling up alongside them quickly. In other cases, a vehicle may simply drift into the other lane because the driver is fatigued, drunk, or distracted.
